National first aid competition of the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross

In the period 06.07-08.07, the National First Aid Competition of the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross was held in the NULC of the Bulgarian Red Cross in the village of Lozen, in which 20 teams from all over the country participated. During the competition, the participants had the opportunity to go through various modules and points, through which they could demonstrate theoretical and practical skills in providing first aid, psychological first aid and psychosocial support.

The event involved over 200 volunteers, and the competition remained in a format where the District Organizations had the opportunity to choose the type of participation with which they would be involved - training or competition, which again allowed the competition to include areas in which there are no Youth Emergency Departments yet built teams.

The chief judge of the competition was Dr. Blagomir, executive director of the Children's Hospital "Prof. Ivan Mitev". Together with him, Dr. Desislava Katelieva - president of the National Association of Emergency Workers, assessed the skills of the participants.

At the end of the competition, the long-awaited moment came when the top three places were announced, namely : the Youth Emergency Team of the BMCHK - Sofia was ranked first, the Youth Emergency Team of the BMCHK - Pazardzhik in second place and the Youth Emergency Team of the BMCHK - Blagoevgrad in third place.
