Health Academy for volunteers of the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross

In the period 10.10-15.10, a Health Academy for volunteers of the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross for 2024 was held. The event was held in the NULC of the Bulgarian Red Cross, Lozen village, and more than 70 volunteers from all over the country took part in it.

During six days, the volunteers had the opportunity to acquire and upgrade their knowledge and skills in the "First Aid" and "Health Program" modules.

The "First Aid" group was divided into two subgroups, which were simultaneously trained on topics such as first aid for life-threatening injuries and conditions. The two groups had a joint practice, which was expressed in doing cardiac massage, practicing different types of bandages and immobilizing invoices.

The Health Program group looked at topics related to: General Health, Hygiene, Healthy Lifestyle, Addiction Prevention and Reproductive Health. The guest speakers were Desislava Ilieva - mental health and psychosocial support officer, Dr. Stefan Mladenov and Dr. Stanimir Tepavski.

On 14.10, all the volunteers took part in a mass demonstration, in which the trainees had the opportunity to apply what they had learned in the past days. As the finale of the academy, the birthday of the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross was celebrated.
