On December 3 and 4 (Friday and Saturday) the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross for the first time held a Winter Online Academy, which included practical classes on the topic of First Aid.
Although the event was held in absentia, it was extremely useful, motivating and inspiring for all participants. Over 70 volunteers from the country took part in the two days of the Winter E-Academy.
On the first day, the participants in the Academy passed an introductory session on Psychosocial Support and First Psychological Assistance, led by Victoria Gencheva, a volunteer of the Bulgarian Red Cross. The training in First Aid was led by Nina Tsenkova and Tolga Mehmedov, members of the Executive Council of the Bulgarian Red Cross.
The program included both theoretical knowledge on First Aid and, for the first time, volunteers had the opportunity to put it into practice. After the successful completion of the training, the volunteers were certified with 1st level, according to the training system of the Bulgarian Red Cross.
The 2021 Winter Academy was extremely successful and even managed to reach many people through distance learning, motivate them, give them new knowledge and inspiration to continue their volunteer work and activities.
The National Leadership of the Bulgarian Red Cross thanked all the volunteers who participated in the training, as well as the colleagues from the General Assembly of the Bulgarian Red Cross, who provided the necessary materials for the practical activities and took the time to participate together with the volunteers. .
