Twenty-seven projects of students from 1st to 12th grade from all over the country have been nominated in the 14th edition of the National Student Competition "Ambassadors of Health".
The competition is organized within the National Program for the Prevention of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases 2021-2025, at the initiative of the Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Youth and sports, the Ministry of Environment and Water, the WHO Office in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross.
The national student competition "Ambassadors of Health" applies to the three age groups: grades 1-4, grades 5-7 and grades 8-12 and includes two thematic areas: Limiting smoking and alcohol abuse and healthy eating and physical activity. The activities take place throughout the year from March to November.
In the projects, interactive activities have been implemented to limit the risk factors for health, which include - electronic applications, Internet sites and electronic books on healthy eating, sports events-competitions and tournaments; tourist and eco hikes; role games; debates and discussions; cooperation and teamwork between generations in order to preserve Bulgarian traditions; cleaning of polluted areas in different settlements in the country, etc.
The total number of projects that managed to successfully finalize is 27, and in the category from 1st to 4th grade - 6 projects; from 5th to 7th grade - 12 projects and from 8th to 12th grade - 9 projects.
Each of the above-mentioned ministries placed in each age group three prizes (for 1st, 2nd and 3rd).
The Ministry of Health, the WHO Office in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross also present a special award.
The ranked participants will receive certificates and subject prizes sent to the principals of their schools.
